TMAP Induction of Officers and Board of Directors for 2026 & Inaugural General Membership Meeting

The Tax Management Association of the Philippines (TMAP) successfully conducted the induction of its Officers and Board of Directors for 2026. This significant occasion was held alongside the association’s inaugural General Membership Meeting (GMM) on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at The Glass Pavilion, Dusit Thani Manila.

TMAP was honored by the presence of the Court of Tax Appeals Presiding Justice, Hon. Ma. Belen Ringpis-Liban, who served as the keynote speaker. Drawing from her vast personal and professional experience, Presiding Justice Ringpis-Liban shared valuable insights with the tax community and underscored the importance of integrity, ongoing collaboration, innovation, and digital technologies in responding to the ever-evolving tax environment.

Inspired by the keynote speech, the Officers and Board of Directors took their oaths of office in a formal induction led by Presiding Justice Ringpis-Liban. This marked a renewed commitment by TMAP’s leadership to advance the association’s mission in the coming year.

The program included the valedictory speech of outgoing president Atty. Carina C. Laforteza, who served as TMAP’s president for 2025. In her remarks, Atty. Laforteza highlighted the association’s achievements during her tenure, emphasized the collaborative efforts among members, and expressed her gratitude for their support. She encouraged the new leadership to build upon the past year’s successes and to continue pursuing TMAP’s goals for the year ahead.

The event brought together leaders from across the tax community to welcome the incoming 2026 TMAP President, Atty. Martin Ignacio D. Mijares . This transition marks a significant moment in the association’s ongoing commitment to excellence and service.

During the event, President Atty. Martin Ignacio D. Mijares introduced the year’s theme: “From Expertise to Future-Ready: Building a Transparent, Accountable, and Digital Tax Environment.” This theme emphasizes TMAP’s dedication to leveraging digital technologies and transparent practices to enhance accountability in tax processes and to prepare for emerging challenges in the field. Under his leadership, TMAP set its objectives for the year, emphasizing advocacy, cooperation with regulators, and unity among tax practitioners.

The day began with a Eucharistic celebration at 11:00 AM, followed by a fellowship lunch that fostered camaraderie.

With dedicated leadership and members, TMAP moves into 2026 with renewed purpose and vision.
