Wellness and Tax Expertise Take Center Stage at TMAP June GMM and Tax Seminar

 

The Tax Management Association of the Philippines (TMAP) successfully held its June General Membership Meeting (GMM) and Tax Seminar at the elegant Glass Pavilion of Dusit Thani Manila, bringing together tax professionals, practitioners, and industry leaders for a meaningful day of learning, networking, and professional development.

 

The General Membership Meeting highlighted TMAP’s commitment to the holistic growth of its members through an inspiring wellness-focused session by Justin Santos, Senior Strength and Conditioning Coach of ProActive Performance Hub. In his engaging presentation, “Building Your Fitness Brick by Brick,” Mr. Santos emphasized the importance of physical fitness, discipline, and sustainable health habits in achieving long-term personal and professional success. Participants gained practical tips on integrating wellness into their daily routines, reinforcing the message that peak performance in the workplace begins with overall well-being.

 

The June Tax Seminar continued the day’s learning experience with insightful discussions from distinguished experts who shared their knowledge on timely and relevant topics affecting the tax profession today.

 

Mark Anthony P. Almodovar of PwC Philippines discussed the critical role of effective client information management, highlighting best practices and emerging considerations in handling client data in an increasingly digital business environment.

 

Hon. Justice Jean Marie A. Bacorro-Villena of the Court of Tax Appeals provided valuable insights into evidentiary issues in tax litigation, offering participants a deeper understanding of the challenges and practical considerations in presenting and evaluating evidence in tax cases.

 

Completing the lineup, Atty. Nestor Pol P. Rasco of the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) shared important updates on the National Risk Assessment and related regulations, helping participants better appreciate the evolving regulatory landscape and its implications for tax professionals and businesses alike.
